Al-Faris Information Technologies Company, an e-business solution provider, announced today, March25, details of eDirectory project for the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). The deal sees Novell solutions creating the infrastructure for simplifying the delivery services for most of KNPC's web-enabled applications.
Novell's Solutions provide KNPC internal system with a powerful security solution that allows third-party security and surveillance applications to use the directory as a single identification mechanism. With users identified uniquely, controlled access is granted to different parts of the system based on an individual's requirements. This allows all users, whether employees or customers, to be centrally managed.
"Novell's directory solution will play a key part in developing new services and the integration of internal systems across KNPC, "explained Khalid Al-Asoosi, General Supdt of Computer Systems of KNPC.
Kuwait National Petroleum Company has one of the largest oil complexes in the world. It houses three major oil refineries. KNPC's refineries are distributed within 15 Kilometers of each other and are located in Mina Abdulla, Mina Al-Ahmadi and Shuaiba. KNPC is also responsible for gas production and marketing of its oil products locally.
