05 October 2010: Manama, Bahrain: Al Riwaq Art Space, a leading light in Bahrain’s art and culture scene will open the doors of its new café, Al Riwaq Café within the Gallery as part of its re-launch celebrations on Sunday, 10 October 2010. The Al Riwaq Café will provide young talented artists and the public with a platform to exchange ideas, provoke intellectual debate, promote, inspire and develop creative thinking and generally nurture culture.
The inaugural ceremony will include a unique ‘DoodleFest’ to celebrate Bahrain’s doodlers. Al Riwaq Art Space will partner with Cigawet a production company which is the main organizer of the music section of the DoodleFest featuring local and international DJs playing a variety of music. The event will also showcase a spectacular art exhibition including examples of art from talented artists in the Kingdom.
Moving beyond art and culture, the Café will offer the Bahrain community an exclusive venue to meet and relax. The Café will provide guests with the highest quality food and service at reasonable prices while enjoying the art on display.
Strategically located in Adliya, a bohemian neighborhood of Manama city, the Café has been designed entirely by talented artists and will be a meeting point for everyone who loves and enjoys authentic food created in an innovative way.
Al Riwaq Art Space was founded in 1998 with a vision to promote creativity and art value by nurturing a strong relationship between art and society through its programs. In order to encourage public awareness and appreciation of visual arts, Al Riwaq hosts local and international group exhibitions, workshops, talks and debates, film screenings and meetings for the art communities and patrons.
