According to an official statement by the Port of Oran, Algeria exported 41 tons of high-quality dates to the United States of America between August 1 and September 15. El Moudjahid reports that Algeria is among the top five date exporting countries with Iran, Pakistan, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
Apart from US, European countries and in particular France, are among the major markets for Algerian date exporters. Algeria exports about 17 per cent of its date production to EU countries.
