Pepsi has chosen Egypt’s coastline as the backdrop for renowned Arab singer Amr Diab’s appearance in the company’s latest television commercial. The 45-second commercial is due to be aired across the region starting in July 2003.
This is the second appearance in a Pepsi commercial for Amr following his debut in 2001. Mustafa Moussa, marketing director for PEPSICO Beverages International, says the “local edge” that Amr brings to Pepsi’s global brand has been very important to the company’s image
The new commercial, like its predecessor, “capitalizes on the huge appeal of Amr and as a consequence we believe it will become one of the most recognizable commercials on television screens across the region over the coming weeks,” Moussa said. — (menareport.com)
