ALBAWABA - In a surprising turn of events, Apple is facing a significant sales decline for its iPhone 15 in the Chinese market, as the latest data indicates that it has failed to meet the company's expectations.

Reports from Bloomberg initially highlighted this trend, showing that iPhone 15 sales were trailing approximately 4.5% behind iPhone 14 sales during the same period. This week, fresh insights from market research firm Counterpoint Research confirm the decline in iPhone sales, suggesting that the drop is even more substantial than initially reported.

Market Impact:
Counterpoint Research's latest report focusing on the Chinese smartphone market reveals a 3% decrease in overall smartphone sales compared to the previous year. However, it is the iPhone sales that have experienced a notably sharper decline. Total iPhone sales for the last quarter have plummeted by 10% compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The primary catalyst behind this significant drop appears to be the resurgence of Huawei.

Huawei's Remarkable Comeback:
Huawei, once teetering on the brink of complete expulsion from the smartphone market due to stringent U.S. sanctions, has managed to stage an impressive comeback. Despite ongoing embargoes, the company recently introduced its new flagship smartphones, the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro, which garnered substantial attention, particularly in the Chinese market. This resurgence of Huawei has had a direct impact on Apple's fortunes in China, with a notable decline in iPhone sales serving as a clear indicator of the changing dynamics in the market. Apple's stronghold in China is undeniably being challenged by Huawei's remarkable resurgence.
