A delegation representing the Arab Investment & Agricultural Development Authority is scheduled to visit Egypt in the near future, according to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat daily. The delegation, which will visit the National Toshki project, has been commissioned with preparing technical and financial studies for land reclamation and farming at the third stage of this project.
This third phase, for which the Abu Dhabi Development Fund previously allocated $100 million in aid, consists of reclaiming and farming a 100,000-fadan area.
Toshki project, described by President Hosni Mubarak as Egypt’s greatest national project, was launched four years ago in an effort to utilize the country’s Sinai region for agriculture. Last year, the project received between 55 and 110 million cubic meters of water every day. ― (MENA Report)
