Official sources reveal that $196 million worth of Arab investment arrived into the UAE in 2000, reported Al-Ittihad daily. This reflects an 11 percent increase compared to the previous year, when investments stood at $176 million, according to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The same source added that a total of $1.067 billion worth of Arab investment arrived into the UAE during the years 1985-2000. Overall pan-Arab investments are estimated at approximately three billion dollars annually. — (Mena Report)
