Gas began flowing again from Statoil's Asgard B floating platform in the Norwegian Sea after improvements were completed to the unit's processing facilities.
The platform had been shut down since Nov. 28 because of gas leaks and maintenance requirements. Processing facilities have been inspected to correct problems.
Daily output from the B platform was expected to be stepped up to more than 20 million meters of gas by this week.
Norsk Hydro's Oseberg field and Statoil's Troll gas field have covered supplies to European customers during Asgard's shutdown
