The Austrian oil group OMV is engaged in talks with Yemen and Qatar in an attempt to clinch oil and gas projects, company CEO Richard Schenz said Sunday, June 17.
"Negotiations began recently. We are investigating which blocks to develop", Schenz told the press.
He said the projects, which would be OMV's debut in the region if the negotiations are finalized, will be carried out in coordination with the Abu Dhabi-based International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).
IPIC is one of OMV's largest shareholders, with 19.6 percent. — (AFP)
