Plans were today unveiled for Bahrain’s Infinity Tower, the first ultra high end residential complex in the Kingdom, which is set to introduce a new standard in design ingenuity and luxury high-rise living.

The 50 storey structure, which is expected to be developed at a cost of approximately $150 million, will feature some 350 luxury apartments. These will range from well appointed one bed-room loft apartments to sprawling double storey four bed-room duplex apartments and penthouses boasting sea and city views and equipped with “skygardens” and infinity edge swimming pools.

Infinity Tower has been conceptualized and designed by world renown architects and engineering consultants WS Atkins, who have been responsible for the design of some of the Middle East’s most unique and well-known structures including the Burj Al Arab and the Bahrain World Trade Center towers, to name a few. The building’s development will be managed by DTZ Bahrain.

All apartments will project a modern, spacious and contemporary feel with open-plan layouts and balconies or outdoor spaces, allowing residents of Infinity Tower to experience the grandeur of villa life with the added luxury of unobstructed sea views enjoyed at heights that are unmatched by any other residential tower in Bahrain.

The development will be located on a 3,945 square metre “island” plot with a built-up area of 85,000 square meters. The “island” will be established from reclaimed land in a prime location within the heart of the Seef District. Infinity Tower will be just adjacent to the Seef Mall as well as the City Centre Mall, currently under construction. In addition, the building will lie within proximity to a host of convenient access routes leading to and from Manama as well as the King Fahd Causeway to Saudi Arabia, making Infinity Tower an ideal location for those residing in and outside of Bahrain.

Infinity Tower will also offer a mix of retail space as well as a broad range of five-star amenities. These include a multitude of shops, restaurants and cafes located on the ground floor. In addition, residents will also have access to state-of-the-art ladies and men’s gymnasiums, a landscaped deck and garden area, an outdoor swimming pool and café, as well as private beach access. Infinity Tower residents will also benefit from extensive parking facilities. Some 750 parking spaces will be set across seven levels of the development.

Commenting on the unveiling of the development, Mr. Robin Williamson, Managing Director of DTZ Bahrain, said: “We are delighted to announce this exciting and one-of-a-kind project in Bahrain. Infinity Tower will truly serve as a landmark in terms of design ingenuity and quality and will redefine the standards for luxury high-rise living. There is no other residential project in the Kingdom, at present, offering the unique features setting Infinity Tower apart. These include the exceptional use of space and added design features and amenities, which have yet to be incorporated into urban high-rise residences in the GCC. We have already had significant interest from buyers across the region and internationally, underscoring the unique value proposition on offer.”

Infinity Tower has not only been designed to provide unsurpassed levels of luxury and to serve as a highly recognizable icon on Manama’s developing skyline, it has further been designed as the first environmentally sustainable residential complex in the Kingdom. Every aspect of Infinity Tower’s design from its location to its external and internal design considerations have been planned so as conserve energy. The tower’s position and specifications leverage natural light, shading and wind movements in order to provide residents with optimal climatic conditions thus reducing the need for air-conditioning.

The building’s exterior has been designed with a deep facade, which provides for natural shading while balconies, found on each unit, are also covered, minimizing exposure to direct sunlight and enabling residents to utilise these out-door spaces on a year-round basis. Internal design specifications have also been meticulously planned so as to allow for maximum air flows and cross ventilation so as to provide for a naturally cooling effect.

Infinity Tower will be offered to GCC residents and expatriates. The units will be sold on a freehold basis. Prices will soon be made available to prospective residents, who are seeking high-quality residences and investment opportunities. Infinity Tower is being developed by a group of private GCC investors. Formal marketing of the project, which is expected to be complete by mid-2008, is to commence at the end of February 2007.
