Almost half of the candidates offered jobs so far under the BD30 million National Employment Project (NEP) have rejected them. Out of 1,813 Bahraini job-seekers interviewed, just 977 have accepted the positions offered to them.

A total of 2,161 were invited for interviews, but 348 declined to show up, project director and Labour Ministry assistant under-secretary for training Ahmed Al Banna was quoted as saying by the GDN.

All in all, up to 10,000 jobs are up for grabs under Bahrain's NEP.
