A new law is on the way to govern the way firms listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange are audited. According to GDN, just independent auditors will be allowed to audit a company's books for five years in a row.

The amendments to the audit law were approved by the Shura Council Monday. The council's financial and economic committee chairman Jamal Fakhro, stated that the proposal was originally submitted by the council to the government.
