Individuals and firms buying properties via Islamic banks or any other financial organization might be exempted from paying the real-estate fees after they own the properties, according to a parliamentary proposal tabled recently, The Bahrain Tribune reported.

The exemption would be provided only on the recommendation by the banks, the report added.

The proposal, submitted by Deputy Jihad Bukamal, aims at promoting Islamic banks and their their activities.
