The Bahraini government has authorized dual taxation agreements with Bangladesh and Pakistan. They come as a result of a Bahraini effort to improve bilateral trade ties through the exchange of benefits with other countries.

The first agreement was concluded with Bangladesh, after talks on October 29 and 30, involving delegations headed Yousif Abdullah Hmood, the head of international economic affairs at Bahrain’s ministry of finance and national economy, and Farouq Ahmed Siddiqi, a member of the Bangladesh's National Resources Council in Bangladesh.

The agreement with the Pakistani was signed after talks involving a local delegation led by Hmood and a delegation led by Mansoor Ahmed, the head of National Resources Council In Pakistan.

According to the Bahrain Tribune, the dual taxation agreements will alleviate the burden of taxes imposed by both counties on investors, companies and individuals active both in Bahrain and the other two countries. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
