The Bahrain All Share Index ended the month of June on a negative note when compared to the previous month, it closed at 2,859.03. Therefore, the Index decreased on a MoM basis by 0.52%.
Market capitalization increased by 2.19% at the end of last month to reach approximately BD11.5bn (US$30.475 bn). Decliners outnumbered the advancers by a margin of 15 to 13 and the prices of 24 companies remained unchanged. Moreover, the value of shares traded decreased by 1.29% to reach BD82.3mn. In addition, the volume of shares traded increased by 29.76% to reach 199.5 million shares. Furthermore, the number of transactions increased by 36.97% to reach 5,150 trades.
Most of the trading was concentrated in the Investmet Sector, which witnessed BD42.3mn of trading value, capturing 51.4% of the total value of shares traded on the BSE. On June 12, 2008 Khaleej Commercial Bank with a paid up capital of BD100 million was listed at the Bahrain Stock Exchange and will be taded in the IPOs market .
