Work on a new BD98 million town south of Salmabad is advancing despite objections from landowners that they are not being fairly compensated. According to the GDN, Bahrain's Works and Housing Ministry is set to start work on the project on August 1, but owners claim they still did not agree to the compensation offered by the government.
The Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Ministry offered BD4 per foot to the landowners, but they insist that market prices are BD13 in that area.
