Bahrain's King Hamad was briefed on various projects as he accepted Areen Holding Company chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, the GDN reported. Among the major projects expected to open in the next few months is the $150 million Banyan Tree Desert Spa and Resort at Al Areen. The Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park, the largest of its kind in the Middle East, is to open by the end of the year.
Also expected to open this year is the 350-room Domina Hotel Al Areen, being established at the cost of $150 million.
The 200,000 square metre Al Waha Project will house both hotel apartments under the management of Marriot chain.
