Bahrain's total banking sector assets advanced by 18 per cent in 2005 to hit over $140 billion, Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA) Governor Rasheed Al Maraj has disclosed, according to the GDN. This is equivalent to about 13 times the Gross Domestic Product and indicates the robustness of the sector, he added.
He was speaking at the opening of the Middle East Financial Technology Exhibition and Conference (MEFTEC) and the Government Technology Middle East Conference and Exhibition (GOVTEC) on Monday.
