Batelco announced the introduction of tariff reductions, averaging 18.5 percent, on four of its data communications services. Emphasizing Batelco’s role as a facilitator of business in the region, Batelco’s Chief Executive Andrew Hearn said that the tariff review was “in line with directives from the country’s leadership to develop Bahrain as a regional communications hub and a base for international business.”

A number of major upgrade projects, aimed at enhancing its network are nearing completion.

The International Private Leased Circuit (IPLC) service will be subject to an average 14 percent tariff reduction, International Managed Private Line (IMPL) service will benefit from an average reduction of 17 percent. An average tariff reduction of nine and 34 percent respectively was introduced for Managed Data Services (MDS) and Global Managed Data Services.

Batelco has also introduced a new feature for the SimSim PrePaid mobile service—Credit Only SimSim vouchers for the amounts of three and five Bahraini dinars. These new denominations credit the customers account, but do not give a time extension on the validity period of the SimSim account. — (Mena Report)
