The United Colors of Benetton held a press conference July 15, 2003, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to celebrate the addition of a brand new store in Al-Ghurair City to its network of outlets in the country. The store showcased Benetton’s collection for Summer 2003.
Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group is the sole distributor of Benetton apparel in the UAE. The new store is added to Benetton’s network of six stores spread across the country, present in all the prime shopping centers.
The Benetton Group is present in 120 countries around the world. Its core business is clothing with a strong Italian character whose style; design expertise and passion are clearly demonstrated in their brands.
The Group produces over 100 million garments every year, 90 percent of which is manufactured in Europe. Its retail network of 5,000 stores around the world offering high quality customer services and now generates an annual turnover of two billion euros, net of retail sales.
United Colors of Benetton in the UAE has been exclusively part of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group since 1989 with a network of six shops, five in Dubai - Deira City Centre, Bur Juman, Jumeirah Centre, Zabeel Road and a new store at Al Ghurair, and one in Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi.
The Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group was founded in 1960 with the acquisition of the Grundig franchise by Chairman Easa Saleh Al Gurg.
