BenQ, the region’s leader in digital lifestyle products, has completed a three-city roadshow tour in the Kingdom to brief its partners on the company’s latest products and technology, as part of its continued investment in the Middle East’s most important market.

Over 350 authorized BenQ dealers from across Saudi Arabia attended the seminars in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Khobar. BenQ’s Middle East general manager, Manish Bakshi, addressed representatives on its recent product launches, such as the Joybook 7000, the world’s first notebook with a 14” wide screen, as well as its strategic plans for the country.

“Information sharing is vital in order to ensure both consumers are kept up-to-date, and partners feel they are integral part of the vendor’s focus,” said Saleh Ali Al-Sagri, chairman and chief executive officer, Safari Electronics, a BenQ partner in Saudi Arabia. “Events such as this allows us access to key regional decision-makers, and helps to drive our business further.”

Senior executives at the company have reported strong sales in Saudi Arabia, with consumer sales outstripping those of the corporate sector for the first time. This growth is attributed to the Kingdom’s youth, who are demanding the latest and most advanced products on the market. BenQ’s best sellers in the Kingdom include the Joybook family of notebooks, digital projectors, LCD monitors, and Joybee MP3 players.

“Consumers in Saudi Arabia are extremely knowledgeable about today’s latest technological developments,” said Tabrez Ahmed, BenQ’s country sales manager for Saudi Arabia. “The Kingdom is the region’s most important business market, because of its size and demand for leading edge technology.”

The three-city roadshow tour was conducted in cooperation with BenQ’s distributors in Saudi Arabia. During the event, Ayman H. Akel, general manager, Rodana Digital, BenQ’s distributor for projectors in the Kingdom, was award for his efforts in helping to establish BenQ as the number two projector vendor in the country.

“There is a strong demand for BenQ technology from people across Saudi, and to stay ahead, we need to ensure the people selling the products are kept informed on the latest developments,” said Mahmoud Barrawi, vice-president, Essam Arabian Projects & Metra Group, BenQ’s oldest distributor in the Kingdom.

BenQ’s range of LCD TVs has also performed well, with double-digit year-on-year growth recorded. Currently BenQ has models sized from 15” to 30”, and plans are well underway to launch bigger models, including a 46” screen by the end of the year.

“This was the most comprehensive series of seminars we have ever conducted in Saudi Arabia, and the response from our partner network was very positive. Over the last year, Saudi Arabia has cemented its position as the key Middle East market for BenQ,” said Bakshi.

“We have seen considerable success across our entire product portfolio. The distinction between technology for work and that of play, is now blurred. People in the Kingdom want products that can serve both purposes, which is why we have excelled.”

“Our network of partners across the country have helped us achieve this, and as part of our continued commitment to them and our customers, we plan to hold similar events on a regular basis,” he added. (menareport.com)
