Abu Dhabi has announced plans to construct the world’s largest Guggenheim museum. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with the New York-based Guggenheim Foundation to establish a world-class museum devoted to modern and contemporary art. It will be called the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi (GAD).
At 30,000 square metres, the Abu Dhabi museum is expected to be built within five years.
