The value of Brazil’s imports of Moroccan sardines have gone up by three folds from January to July 2004 to hit US$ 2.1 million, compared to US$ 595,000 in the same period last year.
According to figures released by the Arab-Brazilian chamber of commerce, and quoted by MAP, Brazil imported 3,400 tons of Moroccan sardines (versus 1,040 in the corresponding period of 2003). Moroccan sardines cover 11.83% of canning plants in Brazil. (menareport.com)
