US President Bush expressed condolences on behalf of the American people to Morocco's King Mohamed VI and the people of Morocco following the earthquake in Al-Hoceima on February 12, 2004.

According to a statement issued by the White House Press Secretary on February 26, the American people and government "stand ready to help in any way possible to assist our friends and allies in Morocco in this time of need."

The statement listed several relief commodities donated thus far, including blankets, tents, generators, medical kits, and plastic sheeting for emergency shelters. Bush also said a team of six American disaster experts had been sent to help coordinate relief activities and distribute supplies. — (menareport.com)
