Governments worldwide are adopting e-government as means of improving their services to business and citizens, promoting economic and social development, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of internal government operations.
For the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), e-government represents an opportunity to make a major contribution through assisting ASEZ businesses in reducing their operating costs by providing them with immediate access to information and services.
The chosen Businessone/STS solution will, prior to designing and developing the software solution, analyze the manual processes and existing workflow, thus addressing the operational needs of the sales tax system.
ASEZA, a government entity reporting directly to the Prime Ministry, was created in 2000. The law established ASEZA as the statuary institution empowered with regulatory, administrative, fiscal and economic responsibilities within ASEZA. ASEZA is a financially and administratively independent authority, acting as the legal heir of both the Aqaba Regional Authority and the Aqaba Municipality. ASEZA is governed by six ministerial-level Commissioners, each responsible for a major area of regulatory or operational activity. — (menareport.com)
