A major new tourism development is to be launched in part of the Bahraini capital, Manama. According to the GDN, the plan was approved at Sunday's weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

It will involve redevelopment of Block 338, which includes the Adliya restaurants and shopping area. The development will span between Bani Ataba Street and Osama bin Zaid Street (which is in Adliya) from the north, Juffair Street from the south, Al Fateh Highway from the east and Shaikh Isa Street from the west.

The Cabinet directed an initial BD245,000 for studies and designs to develop the area, the report added.
