Cairo’s bourse gains slight optimism

On Monday, April 2, stocks recovered slightly, as the market rose in brisker trading. Telecoms moved in opposite directions, as MobiNiL (EMOB.CA) nudged 1.28 percent lower to LE52.26 while Orascom Telecom –OT (ORTE.CA) climbed 1.85 percent to LE24.77.Cement stocks enjoyed gains across the board. Suez Cement (SUCE.CA) jumped 3.79 percent to LE34.76.  

 

Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) fared even better, rebounding 4.89 percent to close at LE12.88. However, Helwan Cement (HELW.CA) eked out only a minor 0.19 percent gain to reach LE42.70. 

 

Elsewhere, other actively traded shares ended mixed. Lakah Group (HCFI. CA) saw the highest volumes during the session, but fell 3.91 percent to close at LE1.23. Commercial International Bank – CIB (COMI.CA) rose 0.82 percent to LE33.04. Egyptian Electro Cables (ELEC.CA) tumbled nearly limit down to LE3.83. PACHIN (PACH.CA) plunged 4.9 percent to LE14.57.  

 

Overall, the PAMI inched 0.67 percent higher to 5,980.4 while the PIPO was off 0.01 percent to 1,602.2.
