On Monday, August 13, the market ticked higher as the PAMI index advanced 193 points to 6,283. Most big caps rose with the exception of Suez Cement which slipped 0.12 percent to LE34.39.
In the telecom sector OT closed limit up pushed by news that it plans to increase its stake in Pakistan through a capital in-crease. MobiNiL gained 3.63 percent on a decent volume of 118,654 shares to end the session at LE56.00.
Cement activity yesterday was set by Helwan Cement which rose 4.61 to LE31.07 after rumors spread that a French cement company would conduct due diligence soon. Cement stocks follows HELW’s trend as Sinai Ce-ment and Misr Cement were up 4.78 percent and 4.68 percent, respectively.
Elsewhere, Lakah Group fell 2.56 percent to a new low of LE0.39 on depressed volumes of 56,000 shares.
