The Canadian Secretary of State responsible for Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, Gar Knutson, will be the keynote luncheon speaker at an upcoming annual general meeting of the Canada- Arab Business Council, to be held Thursday, June 20, 2002 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. The meeting, focused on investment and trade opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa, will also feature presentations from ambassadors to Canada representing key Arab nations, as well as Canadian ambassadors to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and a presentation by Export Development Canada (EDC) Regional Manager Ihab Tadros. This event provides an opportunity for Canadian companies to learn more about the business opportunities in the Arab world. The Canada-Arab Business Council (CABC) is a Canadian chartered, non-profit organization formed in 1983 in recognition of the importance of the Arab World as a trading and investment partner for Canada. The CABC is dedicated to a variety of activities, which strengthen the business, financial and trade linkages between Canada and the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. The CABC has recently organized and hosted three high profile business missions from Syria, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia.
