Canon's distribution partners from around the Middle East have gathered at its new regional headquarters at Dubai Internet City (DIC) for a three-day regional forum to share information on market trends, business issues and forward planning, as well as be briefed on the new technologies and products coming down the line this year from Canon.

This event is the first of this scale for Canon Middle East and signals its increasing investment in, and commitment to, its channel partners and customers in the region, according to a company press release.

“Growth for Canon in the Middle East has been consistent, and very strong since we started direct operations here in 1998,” said Gordon Jones, president of Canon Middle East, “Every year we've achieved an increase of around 40 percent, which has taken this market from just a fraction of a percent to an appreciable contribution to worldwide revenues.”

Canon is a manufacturer of imaging solutions for individuals and businesses. The company operates in two clearly defined markets: Consumer Business Solutions (colour and black & white copiers, color laser beam printers, document image management systems, projector and software solution) and Consumer Imaging Product (photo, video and digital camera products, printers, scanners, fax, personal copiers and calculators).
