Canon Middle East has launched the region's first photocopier assembly line in Cairo, Egypt. The investment made towards the assembly line exceeds more than 10 million Egyptian pounds ($1.6 million).
The move comes as part of a series of regional market investments from Canon, which opened a subsidiary operation in Dubai to serve the Middle East market in 2001. The 5,000 square-meter facility, operated by Canon's distributor in the country, ETCO, will use local skills to assemble analogue copiers.
Canon is a Japan-based manufacturer of imaging solutions for individuals and businesses. The company operates in two markets: Consumer Business Solutions and Consumer Imaging Product. The company employs more than 80,000 people around the world. — (menareport.com)
