CASE ends week with continuous low trading volumes

On Thursday, March 8, the Cairo exchange remained flat as low volumes remain the order of the day. Helwan Cement (HELW.CA) continued its upward trajectory, jumping 4.14 percent to LE41.76 following rumors last week that the Holding Company for Mining & Refractories 48 percent stake has been valued at LE48/share.  

 

Other cement shares bucked market trend, as Suez Cement (SUCE.CA) and Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) gained 0.59 percent and 0.06 percent, respectively, to close at LE37.72 and LE15.41. Telecom stocks ended lower, as MobiNiL (EMOB.CA) dropped 1.34 percent to LE67.73 while regional mobile operator Orascom Telcom –OT (ORTE.CA) followed suit, shedding 1.13 percent to close at LE35.75. 

 

Blue Chip Commercial International Bank –CIB (COMI.CA) lost 1 percent to finish at LE36.46. Overall, the PAMI dipped 0.52 percent to 7,101.8 while the PIPO was down 0.25 percent to 1,706.2.
