On Thursday, April 26, investors were inclined towards cashing in on their profits made throughout the week, ahead of the weekend break. Market bellwether MobiNiL (EMOB.CA) inched down 1.27 percent followed by Orascom Telecom (ORTE.CA) which fell 1.93 percent to LE28.99.
The cement sector continued to surge fuelled by privatization news of Helwan Cement (HELW.CA) which edged up 0.39 percent to LE44.12.
The financial sector proved the strongest as Suez Canal Bank (CANA.CA), Al Watany Bank of Egypt (WATA.CA), Credit Intl D'Egypte (CIEB.CA) and CIB (COMI.CA) all closed in positive territory. Meanwhile, Lakah Group (HCFI.CA) and Al Ahram Beverages Company (PYBR.CA) fell to new lows of LE1.01 and LE39.25, respectively.
Overall the PAMI inched down 0.91 percent to 6,527.2,while the PIPO down at 1,600.2.
