CASE makes slight gains in mid-week trading

On Monday, April 23, the market gained more ground as bulls emerged moving stocks upwards. Talk of the Egyptian Cement Company (ECC) and Cemex’s interest in Helwan Cement (HELW.CA) abounded, which pushed HELW 2.35 percent higher to LE42.30. 


Investors looked on the bright side as Suez Cement (SUCE.CA), Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) and Amereya Cement (AMRI. CA) closed up 0.26 percent, 0.78 percent and 5 percent, respectively. Moreover, the construction sector saw major activity as aic (AICR.CA) traded more than 235,000 shares to end the session flat at LE2.04. 


Meanwhile, OCI (OCIC.CA) continued to see disappearing asks throughout the session to finish up 4.86 percent at LE32.55, with more than 68,000 shares changing hands.  


Overall, the PAMI was up 2.02 percent to 6,603.8 while the PIPO gained 0.83 percent to 1,607.7.
