Gitex Cairo, which will feature a range of international exhibitors and an Italian and Taiwanese Pavilion, will also offer learning an array of learning opportunities to visitors attending the exhibition which will be held at the Cairo International Conference Center, April 4-7, 2001.
"We are proud to announce the participation of Cisco Systems which has agreed to deliver a series of informative seminars to complement the tradeshow. In addition, this year's exhibition will feature a Cyber Café, providing visitors with an opportunity to send and receive emails and surf the web while at the show," said Dijana Likic, international project manager for Gitex Cairo.
Cisco Systems, a world leader in networking for the Internet, will offer up to five seminars daily on a range of topics, providing IT professionals with a prime opportunity to learn more about the newest technological advances while visiting Gitex Cairo.
"There is a wealth of important issues which corporate professionals need to keep abreast of if they want to maximize the business potential the Internet offers. Among the topics to be addressed during Gitex Cairo are security issues, creating a virtual private network, demonstrations of Cisco's Customer Interactive Suite and wireless solutions," said Jeremy Santiago, marcom specialist for Cisco's Middle East region.
In addition, Cisco hopes to introduce 'e-learning' to Gitex Cairo visitors and actively encourage continued use of the Internet in Egypt, which has significant market potential. "We are committed to helping individuals evolve in the Internet economy and Gitex Cairo offers excellent access to individuals in the region who may not, at present, be fully integrating the Internet in their businesses," added Santiago.
Cisco Systems, which currently supports numerous telecommunications companies and Internet Service Providers in Egypt and other North African countries is committed to helping the region embrace the Internet economy and will soon launch a fully operational office in Cairo. Through its presence at Gitex Cairo it will help prepare a variety of business professionals for the Internet challenges they will need to address to effectively operate in a global marketplace.
Gitex Cairo was launched in April 1999 following the tremendous success of Gitex Dubai, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2000. Gitex Cairo represented the Dubai World Trade Center’s first foray into the international sphere of exhibition planning. It is now working inv partnership with Termium, Lebanon's largest IT event, to extend Gitex's Middle East presence. Termium-Gitex was held in Beirut in September 2000.
As a member of Feram I&CT (Federation of Information and Communications Technology Expositions in the Mediterranean) Gitex Cairo is focusing on expanding its presence in the Mediterranean region, to complement its success in the North Africa and Levant regions.
