The US-led occupying authority in Diwaniyah, Iraq, recently awarded $2,000 to local councils in the Qadisiyah Province. After identifying community needs, the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA)-Diwaniyah allocated the money to the councils in Al-Shafiyah and Asalahiyah.
Presentation of the funds was made to the Council Presidents. Al-Shafiyah Local Council will use the money to repair basic infrastructure. The Asalahiyah Local Council plans to use the money to heighten the walls surrounding a school, in order to provide more security. — (menareport.com)
