Jadaf Dubai, the oldest ship repair and industrial marine yard in the Arabian Gulf region, recently organized a visit for managers and representatives of companies operating at the yard, to Jadaf’s new facility presently under construction at Dubai Maritime City (DMC). The visit was aimed at providing companies detailed updates on the progress of the new project as well as to give an overview of the facilities and services offered by DMC.
Jadaf officials briefed company representatives on the developments taking place at the new project site and answered their queries, thus helping these companies develop a clear perspective on all aspects related to their relocation to the DMC site upon project completion.
During the visit Hamed Bin Lahej, General Manager of Jadaf said, “There are 270 companies operating in Jadaf, who we consider not just as investors but our valuable partners in production. We are committed to the development and growth of our constituent companies and have organized this visit to provide them an opportunity to inspect the facilities at the new location, which will allow for a smooth transfer of work to DMC. Being the world's largest maritime development with plenty of space for all kinds of marine companies, we expect an upsurge in the number of ship repair companies and allied business operating in DMC in the coming years.”
“Once completed, DMC, with its world class services, will be the hub for all maritime activity, accommodating hundreds of companies from different the entire marine industry spectrum, both within UAE and outside. Adding a new facet to Dubai, the project will also satisfy the growing marine needs of our clients.”
DMC is a massive one-of-its-kind project in the world, built on a peninsula currently under construction between Dubai Dry docks complex and Dubai’s Port Rashid. The city will be the hub for maritime businesses from six diverse sectors — marine services; marine management, product marketing; marine research and education; recreation; ship design and manufacturing. Once completed, the drydock at Jadaf will be relocated to DMC.
