Saudi Aramco signed a contract with JGC Corporation of Yokohama, Japan, and JGC Arabia Ltd. to build co-generation facilities at Berri Gas Plant.
The project will provide combustion gas turbine generators and heat-recovery steam generators to produce electrical power of approximately 300 megawatts and partially satisfy the Berri gas plant steam demand by supplying about 1.5 million pounds per hour.
The scope includes a high-voltage substation with associated transmission lines. The project will also expand and upgrade plant systems and utilities to support the co-generation plant facilities. The project is scheduled to be completed in October 2005. — (menareport.com)
