Control your robot using smartphones: China teases first 'app store' for humanoid robot

ALBAWABA - If you are outside the house and you want to charge your humanoid robot with a job to be done, but you can't because it's not with you, this Chinese company has solved your issue.

Chinese robot maker, Unitree Robotics, unveiled the world's first humanoid robot “app store” to help users access and control robots directly through their smartphones.

The humanoid robot app store, which is called Unitree Robotics Developer Platform, is a developer platform designed to bring embodied intelligence into daily life by assisting customers and making their lives easier.

Control your humanoid robot using smartphones: What options does the app have?

According to the Hangzhou-based company, the platform for humanoid robots includes the ability to remotely control robots through a phone camera. It can select demonstrations like the martial arts "Bruce Lee" routine, the 1960s dance move "The Twist", and ballet sequences. 

Nonetheless, the app store also allows robot users to upload, share and download training datasets and action sequences to incorporate into Unitree's robots, according to videos shared on the company's social media, including YouTube and X.
