Customs duties up 21 percent in October

Revenue from customs duties, the government’s major source of income, went up by 21.5 percent in October from September, to $128.96 million, while on a year-to-year basis it increased by 7.6 percent from $119.83 million in October 1999.  


Revenue from customs duties during the first ten months of 2000 amounted to $1,082.19 million, a 7.4 percent decline on the same period in 1999. — ( Banque du Liban et d'Outre-Mer Sal )
