CyberGuard Corporation, the technology leader in network security, has signed a partnership agreement with Advanced Integrated Media (AIM), one of the largest information and communication technology distributors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to distribute its SG product line aimed at the Small to Medium Business (SMB) sector and the computer retail market.

Speaking at the launch of the SG product line in the cities of Khobar, Riyadh and Jeddah, Bashar Bashaireh, Regional Manager, Middle East & North Africa, CyberGuard, said, “The Saudi Arabian market has shown great potential for IT security products, especially after the significant increase in IT penetration in the country. As part of our corporate strategy, we are stepping up our focus on the SMB sector, which is realising the need to adopt robust solutions to protect their systems. In AIM we have found a trusted and reputed partner to distribute our SG product line across KSA and the scope of our partnership could be extended in future, to include other countries in the region as well.”

Bassam Abubaker, General Manager, Advanced Integrated Media, remarked, “The home and SMB market in Saudi Arabia is growing at a rapid pace, with a corresponding increase in the number of Internet and computer users. Moreover, we have witnessed an increase in multi-level virus attacks and hacker intrusions worldwide, which has widened the market for security products, especially in the Middle East region that is witnessing a rapid IT penetration across all the sections of society.”

“To address the current market requirements in Saudi Arabia, AIM is keen to be a key player by distributing superior network security products. Our alliance with CyberGuard, who are global leaders in providing advanced security solutions will help us cater to the growing consumer base in the country,” added Abubaker.

“CyberGuard has been successfully involved in the corporate Saudi Arabian marketplace since the late nineties. With the SMB constituting more than 80 per cent of the Saudi market and the emergence of the Small Office Home Office (SOHO) type of environment, CyberGuard has decided to launch its SG security line of products that deliver a cost-effective and comprehensive security that protects the wired and wireless networks of these market segments, in addition to the enterprise edge remote users and satellite offices,” remarked Bashaireh.

The SG Family includes a range of products like the SG300, SG550 and SG565. The SG300 is a compact, feature-rich network security appliance that is perfect for securing very small networks and remote workers. The SG550 is ideally suited for protecting small branch offices of mid-sized enterprises, while the newly announced SG565 All-In-One wireless workgroup security and data access appliance is designed to secure the wireless and wired local area networks of small and medium-sized enterprises. Also, the company’s Global Command Center (GCC) enables administrators to efficiently implement and manage a fleet of SG appliances across a large distributed network environment.

“AIM’s local market expertise, mature network of SMB resellers and computer retailers and their thorough understanding of consumer needs, will certainly help us effectively tap the increasing demand in the Saudi market,” concluded Bashaireh.

CyberGuard will periodically conduct training and product update sessions for its partners in Saudi Arabia, in addition to seminars for the end users, to ensure latest technologies in information security are in place to counter-measure the increase in attacks on computer systems.
