The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) along with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing has rejected claims made by the Australian government that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is an unsafe destination for Australian tourists.

This came in a recent meeting held at DCCI, where the Director General of DTCM Khalid Ahmed Bin Sulayem and the Director General of DCCI, Abdul Rahman Ghanim Al-Mutaiwee, received the Director of the Australia-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Peter Solomon, who was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer for AACCI, Tony Knight.

In this meeting, the Director General of DCCI highlighted good relations which have existed between the two countries for many years now, and that the biggest part of this relationship is based on tourism. The Director General of DTCM stated that the volume of tourists visiting Dubai is almost equal to those visiting Australia.

From their side, the guests from the Australia-Arab Chamber agreed that these claims by the Australian government were unfounded, and added that the UAE enjoys a great deal of safety, making it one of the safest tourist destinations in the region.

During this meeting, the representatives also discussed possible ways to consolidate trade and commerce between Australia and Dubai. — (menareport.com)
