The foundation stone for a major new theme park and entertainment center, "Wow Rak," in the emirate Ras Al Khaimah was recently laid by the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
The Dh850 million project will reportedly be built over an area of 120 acres in the Khor Qurm region in the emirate, according to Gulf News. Wow Rak will include two adjacent theme parks with a capacity to host an estimated 15,000 visitors on a daily basis.
Planned as a complete family entertainment venue,it will also include a shopping and entertainment plaza which visitors will be able to enter free of charge.
The new project is being promoted by Polo RAK Amusements LLC, a joint venture company between India-based Polo Amusement Park Limited, the RAK Investment Authority and RAK Properties.
Wow Rak's establishment in Ras Al Khaima is expected to significantly boost the emirate's draw for tourists, is set to open its doors to visitors within two years' time.
"The project will contribute to the comprehensive development boom currently taking place in Ras Al Khaimah and will boost tourism facilities available in the emirate," said Shaikh Saud.
