Emirati air express supplier DHL UAE is the first air express company to provide airway bills online in the Middle East. DHL's proprietary Document Imaging System, DIS 2.0, eliminates the need to store hard copies of airway bills. The service took three months to develop and is valued at $50,000.

The company is the first to initiate the program, which allows customers to retrieve airway bills online through DHL UAE's webiste, reducing time in phone calls and aids in accounting reconciliation. Online implementation of the DIS means the company can now respond quicker to customer enquiries on delivery sheets and invoices.

Via the DIS 2.0, DHL staff can upload airway bills, delivery sheets, customer statements and invoices on to a central intranet server making the information available to more than 3,000 DHL stations worldwide. — (menareport.com)
