Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has launched the United Arab Emirates’ UAE's first Arabic language Short Messaging Service (SMS) banking service – Al-Islami Mobile banking. The service, with 36 features, allows the bank's customers the convenience to receive their account information with their mobile phones.

The service works interactively with customers at two levels - update and enquiry services. Update service automatically sends SMS information to customer mobile detailing account activity based on service criteria such as salary credit notification, inward remittance or returned check.

Customers can receive SMS banking information based on the language preferred Arabic or English. The customer can activate new unique feature, which is called Do Not Disturb, at any time, which would stop the service temporarily. The service can be re-activated when required.

Established in 1975, DIBank is considered to be the first Islamic bank in the world that has implemented the principles of Islam in all its practices. It was founded with active assistance of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government, the Central Bank and people of the UAE. — (menareport.com)
