ALBAWABA - In early October, Discord, a chat platform mainly used by gamers worldwide, suddenly stopped working for users in Jordan. However, emerging social media reports claim that the platform is reportedly operational again in the country.
Recently, locals flooded social media with posts offering alternatives to gain access to Discord, including solutions such as using a VPN and DNS changers.
In less than a month, a Jordanian user shared a post on a local Facebook group related to PC building, stating that the voice chat platform is working again in Jordan without a VPN. However, the post garnered several comments from other users still experiencing issues.
Did Jordan unban Discord?

The user wrote in Arabic, "Guys! It seems that the government lifted the ban on Discord. Try opening it without a VPN and see if it works."
It seems the issue is reportedly linked to local internet service providers (ISPs) and the type of connection users are using (4G/ Wi-Fi). For example, Orange users are experiencing minimal issues, while Zain customers reported that the platform is not functioning properly.
Others claimed that the voice chat platform works well on mobile, but faced issues with the desktop app. Some stated that Discord works on all operating systems, but encountered problems over a 4G connection. In contrast, several Facebook users outlined that uninstalling and reinstalling the application solved the desktop issue.
