DLA Piper's recently launched Global Sourcing Portal (www.dlapiperoutsourcing.com) provides easy access to a range of user-friendly outsourcing tools and resources.  This launch comes at a time when regional interest in outsourcing is growing.  Both public and private sector organisations across the Middle East are exploring outsourcing initiatives as a way of reducing costs, accessing in-demand skills and improving the performance of their non-core business functions.

"Our Global Sourcing Portal contains interactive tools which will help our clients to realise the anticipated benefits of outsourcing and avoid costly failures.  These tools harness the vast outsourcing experience we have gained from delivering some of the most complex and demanding outsourcing projects, both globally and locally," said Matthew Glynn, DLA Piper's Head of Intellectual Property and Technology (Asia, Middle East and Africa).

DLA Piper's three proprietary web-based outsourcing tools are:

  • The Outsourcing Contract Dashboard - an interactive, web-based contract assessment and reporting tool that helps provide a simple, visual answer to the question "how good is this outsourcing contract?"
  • The Global Outsourcing Matrix - a database providing an up-to-date overview of the key issues, risks and local law differences associated with outsourcing in a number of countries worldwide.
  • The Requirements Builder - an interactive tool which streamlines the critical 'requirements capture' process at the start of outsourcing projects.

Describing the benefits of these tools, Matthew Glynn added, "These interactive tools help to simplify the often complicated activity of outsourcing, which in turn can lead to shorter overall procurement times as well as cost savings for our clients."

DLA Piper's dedicated outsourcing team is recognised as one of the world's leading practices of its kind. In the United Arab Emirates, it has been ranked as the No.1 Technology, Media and Telecoms team for three consecutive years, including 2010, and it was recently named 'Advisor of the Year' at the 2010 European Outsourcing Association Awards.
