(MEBG) -Under the patronage of Qatar’s royal family, the sheikhdom plans hosting the fourth biennial Doha conference and exhibition on natural gas, from July 11 to 15 next year. Its theme will be “Natural gas—an ever-growing potential. The conference will be organized QGPC.
An improvement in oil prices during the past year had led QGPC to step up its efforts to optimize utilization of Qatar’s huge gas potential from its North materials for petrochemical projects in Ras Laffan Industrial City.
Qatar is also negotiating with the UAE and Oman over the supply of 2 bscfd of gas. It is a project that some see as a first step toward the economic Field, including construction of a third LNG train within the RasGas project.
According to the country’s oil ministry, studies are underway on an enhanced gas utilization (EGU) project to produce about 1.75bscfd (billion standard cubic feet a day) for local consumption and export, and well as for supply raw integration of the GCC states.
