Dr. Khalid Wazani: Saraya Aqaba in the process of establishing the required infrastructure for the project

General Manager of Saraya Aqaba Dr. Khalid Wazani, updated the media on the latest developments and progress of the Saraya Aqaba project during a media event which the company held Sunday 30 July 2006 at its new sales showroom in Saraya's headquarters in Amman. Several journalists and representatives from newspapers, magazines, local TV and radio stations, in addition to some regional news agencies attended this event.

 

The aim of this meeting was to update journalists and interested parties on the latest developments of Saraya Aqaba and to announce the start of the apartments selling process. The project's high-quality services developed according to the best international standards were displayed at the meeting. The meeting contributed in strengthening the cooperation between journalists, Saraya team members and management, and Asteco, Saraya Aqaba’s sole sales agent.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Khalid Wazani embarked upon the attractive investment climate which distinguishes Aqaba city particularly and Jordan generally under the shade of the stability, security and encouraging laws. Dr. Wazani resumed his speech by giving a detailed explanation concerning Saraya Aqaba's different facilities upgraded according to the highest international standards.

 

"The process of building the project which has a total estimated cost of $800 million on a total area of 630 thousand sqm is going according to the predetermined time plan, even exceeding the plan in some fields. The project is currently preparing the required infrastructure which comprises electricity, water, communication and detouring roads for construction purposes, within an integrated plan."

 

Dr. Wazani shed light on the importance of Saraya Aqaba to the city, pointing out, "The most important issue which Aqaba city is in need of is increasing the number of hotel rooms. Accordingly, the project adds over 1200 rooms to Aqaba city's hotel capacity. In addition, the project surpasses the concept of traditional tourism adding a new kind of tourism which is conference tourism through providing an advanced conference center. The project provides all the needed facilities which make Aqaba an attractive city for major regional and international conferences. It is also considered a pivotal point for drawing in foreign investments and an incentive for local investments."

 

Dr. Wazani presented the attendees with Saraya Aqaba corporate social responsibility towards the society which include 10 scholarships for Aqaba students who wish to obtain their university degrees in the fields of hotels and hospitality outside Jordan, 50 scholarships for students across the kingdom, and adopting and developing a governmental school in Aqaba. Moreover, Saraya Aqaba will provide about 9000 work opportunities during the phases of constructing the project and finishing it.

 

Dr. Wazani provided a detailed explanation of the selling process of the residential units with its different categories, saying: "Up till now, we have sold 66 per cent of the grand villas, 20 per cent of the villas, and 30 per cent of the project's apartment. In the near future, we will begin with the selling of the town houses." He added, "These residential units are fully furnished. The internal designs are prepared by KCA International Company, which is renowned for its distinctive designs and authenticity; on the other hand the grand villas, villas and water park are managed by Jumeirah which will offer premium services for owners.

 

Asteco Sales Manager presented the attendees with a detailed explanation of every category of the residential units in Saraya Aqaba in terms of spaces, features and characteristics, which are reflected in parking spaces, swimming pools, multi-sport courts and several others.
