Al-Tayer Motors, the Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Jaguar and Land Rover dealer in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, will open a new dealership representing all five of its Ford Motor Company brands by early 2004. The facility is expected to be the largest of its type outside North America.

The new facility, which will accommodate up to 100 vehicle displays and occupy an area of approximately 260,000 square feet, will be located between the third and fourth interchanges of Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road. Each car brand will have its own dedicated display section.

“The fact that Al-Tayer Motors will start work on the largest Ford facility outside the US speaks volumes about the importance of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Middle East as a whole, to the auto retail industry, and the vast potential of Al-Tayer Motors and Ford Motor Company in this part of the world,” said Al-Tayer Motors’ Managing Director Saeed Al-Tayer.

Last year, Al-Tayer Motors and Omeir Bin Youssef Group, the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealer in Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain, announced plans to invest a total of $20 million in showroom facilities. Omeir Bin Youssef group opened a new Ford, Lincoln and Mercury showroom on Abu Dhabi's Airport Road in April this year, while Al-Tayer unveiled its own Ford, Lincoln and Mercury premises in February. — (menareport.com)
